Opened in December 1938, the Grainger Museum documents the life and career of internationally acclaimed musician and composer Percy Grainger.
The only purpose-built autobiographical museum in Australia, it has an interesting collection of objects directly related to Percy Grainger's compositional career, such as published scores and original manuscripts.
Recognised internationally as a major musical research resource, the heritage-listed museum also has more than 50,000 items, including diaries, ethnographic objects, furniture, decorative arts, photographs, artworks, clothing, and letters of correspondence with famous and not-so-famous contemporaries.
The Grainger Museum is part of the University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø Library and is open to the public on Monday only during University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø semesters (closed on public holiday); and also for public events throughout the year.
